I have grown so fond of Siviwe and Lela. Their engagement shoot a few months ago at Mpongo Park Private Game Reserve was enormous fun, and the hours I spent with this trendy young couple were most joyful. I have been counting down the days with them and sharing in their excitement leading up to today. Lela, Siviwe and their entourage, all prepared before the ceremony at the luxurious River Lodge at Mpongo Park, which is nestled amongst enchanting countryside and lush valleys. Outside their suite, we enjoyed the company of a large Blesbok resting in the shade. Around the corner, a female Nyala with her young offspring, kept cool in the lushness of a fern and cycad garden in front of the reception entrance and didn’t seem to mind my presence at all as I came within 2 metres to admire them. Siviwe surprised his beautiful bride with a helicopter flight from Mpongo Park, to their reception down the road, at The Lion Park. Much to my absolute delight, he made my dream come true and arranged for me to fly with Lela and her Maid of Honour. This was one of the highlights of the day! For our creative shoot I found these stunning old shabby ruins and abandoned houses on a nearby farm. I was in my element – those that know me, know how I am always scouting for dilapidated old buildings. Thank you to our pilot, Laro Fourie of Westline Aviation, for transporting us safely to the venue. I will never forget this day and thank you again Siviwe and Lela, for choosing me to capture your special wedding story.
