Antoinette is a pretty, soft spoken young lady with a warm heart and gentle nature. She looked radiant on her wedding day and had a few elements of surprise planned. I thoroughly enjoyed my time with her and her friendly bridesmaids as they prepared prior to her ceremony. Antoinette presented her bridesmaids with beautiful jewellery sets packaged in silver cases, and she was overcome with emotion as she handed them out to her sister (her Maid of honour) and her bridesmaids. Antoinette is such a deep and happy person to be around. Their wedding day at Gonubie Manor Wedding Farm was a very special one, where two unique families were united. Their wedding was a beautiful combination of rich cultures and traditions. Antoinette is from Ghana and Reuben from Zambia. Their ceremony was spiritual, emotional and joyful. Guests kept cool in the shade of the trees and were entertained by the worship team, and Nombasa, who sang like an angel. Even though Antoinette is a traditional person, I loved how she added a few twists to her wedding program. Instead of only tossing her bouquet, she decided to toss all her bridesmaids’ bouquets too, giving her single friends and family extra chances of capturing a bouquet. This created much excitement, action and laughter amongst the single ladies. Another endearing moment was the cake cutting. Antoinette invited her bridal party, friends and family to gather closely around her and Reuben as they cut their cake. The final touch to the evening was the first dance. Guests lit up sparklers and surrounded the newly weds as they danced to the tune of their own beating hearts, blissfully happy in each others arms. Antoinette and Reuben, it was the greatest pleasure sharing in your special day. May God bless your marriage and keep you safe. You and your family and friends embraced Leigh and I with your warmth and hospitality.
Thank you Lily (Leigh Skinner Tebbutt) for the impressive work you did capturing the bridal party and keeping them entertained while I whisked the new Mr. and Mrs. Kalima off to the beach for their creative shoot. I’d been planning to do a shoot amongst the bushes in full yellow bloom for ages and finally got my chance to do so.
