It seems like just the other day when I captured Nwabisa and Thando’s Vintage styled engagment shoot in the forest. Over the months we built a wonderful friendship. Their wedding took place at one of my favourite little coastal towns, Kidd’s Beach. The heavens opened and the rain poured, but we felt God’s blessings and didn’t allow the rain dampen the excitement of the day. Surprisingly, the skies cleared for a short while after a heavy downpour. We quickly headed to the beach, where I took advantage of the spectacular, dramatic clouds that created a stunning backdrop. Nwabisa shared their love story with me…

“Thando and I met at a friend’s wedding in Port Elizabeth. He was one of the groom’s bestmen and I was the maid of Honour. It was a chilly that evening and being the gentleman that he is, he offered me his jacket to keep me warm. I happily accepted his jacket, even though I thought that it didn’t match my attire. Later in the evening, I fetched my white fur and returned his jacket to him. He was reluctant to take it back so soon. Fast forward to when he visited me at home one day… he confessed that I would be a perfect wife and lifetime partner, and asked me to marry him. The formal proposal occured at a family gathering called “Umembeso” where he declared his Love for me in the presence of members of both our families. It was a magical moment when he got down on one knee and asked me for my hand in marriage….and of course… i said YES”.
