Tando and Sipokazi’s wedding theme was “Western meets Culture.” A spacious white marquee tent, with glass doors was set up in Tando’s village, where he grew up in Tsilitwa, near Qumbu in the Transkei. Their guests were dressed accordingly and the colors of the outfits were colourful, eye catching, and modern with a traditional flair. The day was magical and their wedding was blessed late in the afternoon with some showers of rain. My friend, Leigh, did an amazing job again as my second shooter and captured gorgeous photos of the surroundings and countryside, highlighting this beautiful part of the world where Tando was raised. I can only imagine the wonderful childhood memories he must have. Sipokazi has the voice of an angel and at the end of the evening she surprised us all and sang a few songs. Her hubby Tando, watched and listened with pride and a huge smile on his face. While I focused on the main events, Leigh did her creative thing and captured the candid and behind-the-scene moments that compliment my story. My philosophy behind my wedding photography has always been to document the day as it unfolds, to capture the emotions, the spirit, the tears, joy and everything in-between. Thanks Leigh for your assistance and good company and for all the giggles and thank you Mr. and Mrs. Jafta for asking me to capture your special day!
